Luigi De Angelis and Fanny & Alexander
have their opera debut directing Mozart’s
masterpiece at the Teatro Comunale in Bologna.
Luigi De Angelis was born in Bruxelles. In 1992 he found the company Fanny &
Alexander together with Chiara Lagani. He is director, set, lighting and graphic
designer and also musician . His creations always relate to music,
sound and space, and they are influenced by visual arts and contemporary music
repertoire.
Fanny & Alexander's productions has been represented in Italy and in international
festivals such as: Biennale Teatro di Venezia, Santarcangelo dei Teatri, Volterra
Teatro, Drodesera, Napoli Teatro Festival, Ravenna Festival, Festival delle Colline
Torinesi, KunstenFestivaldesArts (Bruxelles, Belgium), De Singel (Antwerpen, Belgium),
Bitef (Belgrado, Serbia), Eurokaz e Music Zagreb Biennal (Zagabria, Croatia), Mess
Festival (Sarajevo, Bosnia), Mostra Sesc Des Artes (San Paulo, Brazil), Norderzone
(Groningen, Netherlands), Kampnagel (Hamburg, Germany), Sophiensaele (Berlin, Germany),
Flying Circus Project (Singapore), Aylul Festival (Beirut, Lebanon), Festival di
Tampere (Finland), Perfect Performance (Stochkolm, Sweden).
In October 2015 Luigi De Angelis will curate and direct a concert installation
with compisitions by Giacinto Scelsi, In Nomine Lucis, that will
debut in De Singel, Antwerp.

Mika Kares – Sarastro
One of the most interesting young bass of the international opera scene, the young
Finnish bass Mika Kares studied at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki. Mr. Kares sings
many varied roles, but in particular has made a name for himself as a performer
of Verdi, Wagner and Mozart. Guest performances have taken him worldwide to places
including Seattle, Hong Kong, Salzburg, Rome, Paris and Valencia, where he has performed
under the baton of many great conductors such as Lorin Maazel, Zubin Mehta, Paolo
Carignani and Marc Minkowski.
Mika Kares did his Italian debut as Daland in Der Fliegende Holländer at
the Teatro Comunale in Bologna and at the Teatro Regio di Parma as Massimiliano
Moor in I Masnadieri.
Future plans include Norma and La
favorite (Balthazar) at the Bavarian State Opera in Munich; Don Carlo in
Bilbao; Das Rheingold under the baton of Teodor Currentzis at the Ruhrtriennale;
Ein Deutsches Requiem and a concert in Helsinki; Messiah in Tampere;
Luisa Miller in Graz; Shostakovich Symphony n.13 in
Tapiola;Turandot in Bregenz; Lohengrin in Brussels; Agrippina in
Vienna (Theater an der Wien); La Bohème and a concert in Madrid; Boris
Godunov in Savonlinna. Mika Kares is as well looking forward to some
most significant house debuts: at the Semperoper Dresden as Filippo II (Don Carlo)
and at the Nederland Opera in Amsterdam as Commendatore in Don Giovanni with
Marc Albrecht.

Anna Corvino – Papagena
Anna Corvino attended the Scuola dell’Opera at the Teatro Comunale in Bologna where
she made her debut as Magda in La Rondine under the baton of José
Cura, Gilda in Rigoletto, Musetta in La Bohème, Adina
in L'Elisir d'Amore, Donna Anna in Don Giovanni.
More recently, she participated in La Betulia Libera by
Mozart, conducted by Riccardo Muti at the Ravenna Festival, she sang Gianni Schicchi
(Nella), Napoli Milionaria! and Fauré's Requiem in
Cagliari; Monsieur Chouffleury in Jesi. Ms. Corvino made her outstanding
debut as Mimì in La Bohème in Salerno under the baton of Daniel
Oren, she took part also at the Teatro Comunale of Bologna opening night season
(2014) singing II Blumenmaedchen in Parsifal, Roberto Abbado conducting
and Romeo Castellucci directing. After that she sang La Traviata in Busseto
with the Orchestra of the Teatro Comunale in Bologna, a Verdian Gala at the Teatro
Regio in Parma; Rosina in Il Barbiere di Siviglia in Lecce.
Active also on the concert side she has performed with the Orchestra Nazionale della
RAI in Turin, the Nuova Scarlatti in Naples, the Kiev Orchestra, the Symphonette
Raanana Orchestra in Israel and the Orchestra of the Puccini Festival in Torre del
Lago.

Gianluca Floris- Monostatos
Particularly appreciated for his deep portrayal of the characters he sings he regularly
works with such conductors as Zubin Mehta, Lorin Maazel, Yuri Temirkanov, Daniel
Oren and Placido Domingo. Among the main roles in his repertoire it is worth mentioning:
Goro in Madama Butterfly, Edmondo in Manon Lescaut, Pang
and Pong in Turandot, Malcolm in Macbeth, the Messenger in Aida,
Narraboth in Salome, Spoletta in Tosca, Gastone in La
Traviata, Normanno and Arturo in Lucia di Lammermoor, Wagner
in Boito’s Mefistofele, Dr. Cajus and Bardolfo in Falstaff,
Walter in Tannhäuser, Don Basilio in Le Nozze di Figaro,
Remendado in Carmen, Selim in Il Corsaro and an Incredible
inAndrea Chénier. Mr. Floris recently performed Norma in
Turin, Bologna and Lyon; he then returned to the Teatro Regio in Turin singing Andrea
Chénier and at the Teatro Comunale in Bologna for Nabucco.
Future plans:
Turandot at the Terme in Caracalla in Rome.
